Continuing on the discussion about “heavy” lifting from the last two weeks…
If you’re going to lift heavy, you have to know how to lift safely.
One aspect of lifting safely is knowing how to execute an exercise with proper form and technique.
Another might be knowing how to work with a spotter.
And another would be knowing how to use the equipment.
Every day, I see people overlook an important piece of equipment that would help them lift both more effectively and more safely.
The “safeties” on the squat rack.
I know some squat racks don’t come with safeties and many lifts aren’t benefitted by using them.
But for some important movements like squats and bench presses, they can help you get a lot more out of your time at the gym.
Safeties take very little effort to set up and they can allow you to lift more weight with the confidence that you aren’t just going to end up crushed below a bar.
So if you’d like to get more out of your time at the gym, check out the video below.
I’ll show you how to effectively set your safeties so you can start lifting heavier and seeing more progress.
