Is your body speaking the same language?

You know when someone who’s clearly pissed off tells you they’re “fine”?

That was my body for most of my 20s. It loved to give me the silent treatment and then blow up at me… except its version of blowing up was getting some dumb injury that kept me sidelined for weeks.

But here’s the thing…

My body wasn’t actually being a jerk.

It was just speaking a different language and I needed to learn how to listen.

Like when I was traveling through Bosnia, I had to do a little more work to communicate – even with simple stuff.

When I’d go to a restaurant, I wouldn’t just say the food I wanted… I’d also make sure to point to the menu and use more gestures in case my terrible pronunciation didn’t do the job.

And the owner would also do a little more work to try to decipher what I was saying because they wanted my money.

(Side note: If you’re going to travel, most people will speak English. But if you learn a few phrases and make an effort, it goes a long way. Please. Thank you. Bathroom. Some numbers… You know… Human stuff.)

Same idea here.

My body and I just had to figure out a mutual language that we could use to communicate.

Now here’s the thing with bodies…

They might not always send signals the way we might expect.

It takes a while to crack the code – and everyone’s code is a little bit different.

But once you learn how your body communicates, everything changes.

Fewer injuries. Fewer missed training sessions.

Just more time enjoying the sport you love to do.

If you keep fighting the injury cycle and aren’t sure why, then it’s probably time to figure it out.

Hit me up so we can set up a time to chat.

I’ll see if I can help you figure out what’s going on.

PS – My initial consults are free. No surprise bills or bullshit. Just my attempt to provide a little help.
